| Nadeem Ali Dhirani - Sr. Year Representative |
![]() Name: Nadeem Ali Dhirani Year: 3 Program: Specialist in Neuroscience with minor in Biology
Experience gained with BioSA: This will be my second year with BioSA, and I will be continuing in my position as a Representative for this wonderful organization. Being a part of it helped me learn how to think on my feet, be prepared for bad and good, and make the best out of a situation. It has furthered my appreciation for working with others, and keeping everyone on the same page. I hope to promote and organize events this year that will be even better than before, and benefit students the war Biosa has benefited me, while at the same time continue to grow and better manage my time. Here's hoping!
Hobbies/Interests: avid YouTuber, standup comedy, hanging out with family and friends, acting, reading, and writing Favourite TV Shows: Big Bang Theory, Criminal Minds, The Simpsons, Man vs Food, to name a few Favourite Movie: Too many to mention, but give me a well written story, gut-wrenching emotion, and/or a heart pounding fight/shootout scene, I'll give it a thumbs up (sidenote: Will Smith and Johnny Depp rule) Favourite Quote: “There is no wealth like knowledge and no poverty like ignorance" and "You've got to dress for the job you want, not the job you've got."
Advice to First Years: Be open to change. When you come to university, not only can you gain new information, but you can really take on a new perspective. Embrace this change, and be willing to head off in directions you may have never considered before. One nice thing about UTSC is because it's a bit smaller, it's easier to meet people and really get exposed to more clubs, councils, and work/volunteer opportunities, and all different types of outlooks. When it comes to class, stay on top of your work, because catching up is always harder than staying on track, particularly with lectures (this is coming from a big-time procrastinator). That being said, everybody works at a different pace, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Never be ashamed to ask for help, from a class mate or a prof, go to ANY AND EVERY extra help sessin, and be kind enough to help whoever you can. And most importantly: DON'T STRESS! (save that for me)
If you had all the money in the world, what would you do? Burn it all like the Joker did in the Dark Knight…. Kidding; I'd probably start my own universities (a la Accepted) where anybody could learn whatever they wanted to, design their own courses, and have a bunch of good times with some even better people. I'd also sponsor children from around the world so everybody could learn. That, and putting some more funding into cancer research couldn't hurt right? Plus it would be cool to have some islands in the Caribbean with their own safari resorts and start my own film studio.
If you were a fruit, what it be and why? A coconut, because I'm hard-headed, love being on the beach, and DEEP down kind of sweet (or so I've been told) Contact Nadeem at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it |
